Visa-Free Entry Requirements
- The traveler must have a valid passport covering the planned duration of stay. The passport is required to be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
- The traveler must be able to show a return ticket to the country of origin or an onward ticket to another destination for which they have the right to be admitted. They must be able to prove sufficient financial means during the stay and accommodation arrangements.
- Admission to the country and the permitted duration of stay are determined by the immigration officer at entry. The authorities must be satisfied that the traveler is a genuine visitor, has a valid return or onward journey, has sufficient financial means, and has suitable accommodation. The right to visa-free travel does not automatically constitute a guarantee of admission to the country.
- Since stay permits are granted with varying durations depending on the traveler's nationality or regional status, there is no single maximum stay period applicable to all visa-exempt travelers. Visitors wishing to stay longer than the period granted at entry may apply for an extension to the Immigration Office in Kingstown or to the authorized port units in Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, and Union Island before the permit expires. The extension fee is 75 East Caribbean dollars in cash per month or part of a month.
- All travelers must complete an Embarkation/Disembarkation form upon entry or exit.
- If the child travels with only one parent or without parents, the required documents must be verified with the Immigration Department before travel.
Consular Visa Application Requirements
- Applicants who need to obtain an entry visa in advance must submit their application to the Ministry of National Security of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The application can be completed through the official online portal or by sending the paper form via courier together with supporting documents and proof of payment. The application is processed directly by the Ministry of National Security, rather than through the classic visa sticker procedure obtained from an embassy.
- In the online application, an accessible email address must be used. The applicant uploads the documents to the system and pays the fee by debit or credit card. In the paper application, the form must be completed legibly in type or in large and clear handwriting, signed and dated by the applicant.
- The form must provide the surname, first name and middle names as in the passport, date of birth, nationality, place and country of birth, passport number, issuing country, date of issue and expiry, gender, home address, telephone and email information. Marital status, spouse details, current employer and occupation information are also requested.
- The applicant must state the planned date of arrival, the address where they will stay in the country, the name and telephone details of the local contact person, the planned duration of stay and the purpose of travel. Information must also be given about previous visits, entry visas obtained or denied, cancellation or revocation decisions, intention to work in the country, persons traveling together, criminal record, and organizational memberships. If a previously issued entry visa exists, the form requests attaching a copy of it.
- A clear, legible, and color copy of the passport's biographical information page must be submitted. Under the general condition applicable to all visitors, the passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry.
- The online application requirements envisage uploading one clear and legible color photograph. The photograph must be 2 × 2 inches in size and taken within the last six months. The paper application form requires the submission of two passport photographs; one of them may be attached to the photograph space on the form.
- The application file must include a sponsor letter, a valid criminal record or police character certificate, and a financial document belonging to the applicant or the sponsor. Evidence regarding the applicant's employment status, proof of accommodation, the requested duration of stay, a document showing the sponsor's legal or immigration status in the country, and the sponsor's invitation may be taken into account in the assessment. The competent authority may conduct an interview with the proposed sponsor.
- Hotel or other accommodation reservation must be submitted according to the nature of the travel. For travel involving a chartered yacht or boat, a charter contract; for cases where an itinerary is required, a route or program document is requested. Hotel reservation, charter contract, and travel itinerary are listed as documents required "where applicable" in the official checklist.
- The financial document may belong to the applicant, the sponsor, or both.
- The police character certificate must be valid.
- The official general classification includes short-term, long-term, student, humanitarian, and immigrant visa types. Persons with an intention to work or reside must obtain the relevant work or residence permit in addition to the entry visa.
- The non-refundable fee for all entry visa applications is 200 East Caribbean dollars or 88 US dollars. In online applications, payment can be made by debit or credit card. For bank transfer, a bank charge of 8 US dollars is added to the 88 US dollar visa fee, and the applicant must pay a total of 96 US dollars. In applications by bank transfer, the bank receipt is sent by courier together with other documents. A bank draft can be issued in favor of the Accountant General.
- The current paper application form states that the entry visa is valid for a single journey. The duration of stay is declared in the application form and is subject to assessment by the immigration authority upon admission to the country.
- It is not indicated that a mandatory interview will be held with the applicant, but an interview may be conducted with the proposed sponsor.
- Whether these documents are required must be verified with the Ministry of National Security before applying.
- Making false or misleading statements may result in the permanent refusal of the visa or prevention of entry into the country.
Transit Visa Requirements
- A transit visa is a defined visa type for persons traveling through St. Vincent and the Grenadines to another destination outside the country.
- An applicant who needs to obtain a visa in advance for transit purposes must use the general Entry Visa Application Form and state the purpose of travel as transit. The form must provide information on the planned date of arrival, the address where they will stay in the country, the transit or stay period, the final purpose of travel, and persons traveling together.
- The application must include a color copy of the biographical information page of the passport, the required photograph(s), a sponsor letter, a valid police character certificate, and a financial document belonging to the applicant or the sponsor. Accommodation reservation, charter contract, and travel itinerary may be requested depending on the conditions of the travel.
- The traveler's passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry. An onward ticket to the final destination or a travel ticket to another country to which they have the right of admission must be carried.
- A separate fee for a transit visa has not been published. The general visa application fee is a non-refundable 200 East Caribbean dollars or 88 US dollars. For bank transfer, a total of 96 US dollars is paid including the bank charge.
