Saint Lucia: Visa and entry documents and requirements

Visa-Free Entry Requirements
- The traveler must have a passport valid for the entire duration of the planned stay in Saint Lucia. An onward or return ticket showing departure from the country must be carried.
- Air passengers are strongly advised to complete the electronic immigration and customs form before arrival to avoid delays at entry. The form can be submitted up to three days before travel. A single form may be completed for those traveling with the same family.
- The electronic form requires flight information, passport details of accompanying family members, a photo of the passport’s biographical page, and a valid email address. For holders of an appropriate regional travel document, identification card information may be accepted.
- After the form is submitted, the QR code generated by email must be presented at entry together with the passport or accepted travel document. The QR code may be displayed on a phone, tablet, or computer screen, or carried in printed form.
- A vaccination requirement may apply for passengers arriving within the last six days from an infected or health-risk area.
- Hotel reservation, invitation letter, bank statement, employment letter, and travel health insurance are not published as common requirements for all visa-free travelers.
- The maximum permitted duration of stay may vary depending on the traveler’s travel document, visa exemption arrangement, and entry permit granted at the border.
Visa on Arrival Requirements
- Visa application at the port of entry may be made only in certain circumstances deemed appropriate. There is no guarantee that the application will be accepted before arrival in Saint Lucia, and the application made at the port of entry may be refused.
- All questions on the application form must be completed in capital letters. The form must be signed and dated by the applicant. If another person prepared the form, that person’s name, address, relationship to the applicant, signature, and the date the form was prepared must be written.
- The application must include two recent and certified passport-sized photographs, a valid passport, a return ticket to the port of departure, a copy of the travel itinerary, and proof of hotel or private accommodation.
- If staying with a friend or relative, an invitation letter must be provided. The invitation letter must contain the address and telephone numbers of the inviting person.
- Proof of sufficient financial means must be provided. The application form requires the traveler to declare the amount of money that will be carried during the trip.
- Employed persons are required to provide an employer or employment letter. Students must provide a letter issued by their school, college, or university.
- The form requires: the name, address, and telephone number of the current employer or educational institution; profession and current position; travel date and purpose; planned duration of stay; accommodation address in Saint Lucia; in private accommodation, the host’s name, relationship, and telephone numbers.
- Information on the spouse and children traveling together must be written on the form. For children, first and last name, date and place of birth, and passport number are required.
- Air passengers are strongly advised to present the QR code generated by completing the electronic immigration form together with their passport at entry.
- The issuance of a visa does not automatically grant the right to enter the country. Providing false or misleading information may result in visa refusal or denial of entry into the country.
Consular Visa Application Requirements
- A non-immigrant visa may be used for tourist visits, business, education, and other temporary travel purposes indicated in the form. The application must be made to the Immigration Department or the Saint Lucia diplomatic mission serving the applicant’s place of residence.
- The central application process must be initiated at least two weeks before the travel date. The processing time is published as five business days on the central government service page. Local processing times at diplomatic missions may vary.
- All questions on the application form must be completed in capital letters, signed and dated by the applicant. If the form was prepared by a third party, the identity and contact information of the preparer as well as their signature must also be provided.
- Two recent and certified passport-sized photographs, a valid passport, a return ticket to the port of departure, a copy of the travel itinerary, proof of hotel or private accommodation, and proof of sufficient financial means must be provided.
- If traveling at the invitation of a friend or relative, an invitation letter containing the address and telephone numbers must be provided.
- Employed persons must submit an employer or employment letter. Students must provide a letter obtained from their school, college, or university.
- On the application form, personal and passport details, the national insurance or identity number if available, residential and correspondence addresses, telephone and email details, employer or school information, profession, purpose of travel, duration of stay, accommodation address, host details, and the amount of money to be used during the trip must be declared.
- Applicants who will travel via the United Kingdom are asked whether they need a UK visa, whether they have applied, and whether they have obtained a visa. When applicable, the visa type, application date, reference number, and last validity date must be written on the form.
- The name, date of birth, and passport details of the accompanying spouse must be declared. The names, dates and places of birth, and passport numbers of accompanying children must be added to the form.
- These documents must be submitted if requested by the relevant mission.
- The single-entry visa fee at the central Immigration service is 125 East Caribbean dollars, and the visa is intended to be used within a three-month period. The multiple-entry visa fee is 190 East Caribbean dollars, and it is issued for multiple entries within a one-year period.
- The Embassy in Washington publishes a fee of 50 US dollars for applications within its jurisdiction, payment only by money order made out to 'Embassy of Saint Lucia', and a processing time of 7–15 business days. This fee, payment method, and duration apply only to applications at that mission.
- The official service record in Washington indicates that the application may also be submitted by return or certified mail. The conditions for mail and passport return must be verified with the mission to which the application is submitted.
- Fingerprints, other biometric data, and an interview are not published as common requirements for all applicants. The mission to which the application is submitted may request additional information or documents based on the circumstances of the application.
- The document and certification conditions required by the local mission must be fulfilled.
- The last date the visa can be used, number of entries, and the duration of stay granted at the border must be checked from the issued visa and entry stamp.
- Holding a visa does not guarantee the right to enter the country. False or misleading information in the application form may result in permanent visa refusal or denial of admission at the port of entry.
