How Do We Rank It?

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Ranking compares only passports from countries included in the organization. The results are re-ranked from 1 within this group.Global Ranking Methodology: passportreports.com ranks passports by their Mobility Score. The Mobility Score represents the total number of countries that can be entered visa-free, with a visa on arrival, or with an electronic travel authorization. If Mobility Scores are equal, the number of countries accessible without a visa is considered first. If that number is also equal, the number of countries accessible with an electronic travel authorization is considered. If the tie remains, the number of countries accessible with a visa on arrival is considered. If all values are equal, the countries share the same rank. Review the algorithm used in our methodology.

About Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Countries

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation brings together 57 member states across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and parts of Europe and South America. It is widely described as the second largest intergovernmental organisation after the United Nations by number of member states. The organisation was established after the 1969 Rabat summit and works through political, economic, cultural, social and humanitarian cooperation channels. Membership in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation does not create a shared border area, a common visa policy or a unified passport system. Each member state continues to issue its own passport and apply its own travel rules. As a result, the practical mobility strength of member passports can differ sharply even within the same organisation. A focused ranking makes those differences easier to read while keeping the wider diplomatic context visible.
