Countries with Visa-Free Access to China

How Do We Rank It?

The China Access Ranking compares eligible passports that allow entry to China visa-free, with a visa on arrival or with an electronic travel authorization. The results are re-ranked from 1 among these passports.Global Ranking Methodology: passportreports.com ranks passports by their Mobility Score. The Mobility Score represents the total number of countries that can be entered visa-free, with a visa on arrival, or with an electronic travel authorization. If Mobility Scores are equal, the number of countries accessible without a visa is considered first. If that number is also equal, the number of countries accessible with an electronic travel authorization is considered. If the tie remains, the number of countries accessible with a visa on arrival is considered. If all values are equal, the countries share the same rank. Review the algorithm used in our methodology.

About Access to China

China access is a destination-focused reading of the mobility database, built for passports that can enter China without a standard visa obtained in advance. The list brings together visa-free entry, visa on arrival and eTA records when those routes appear in the central data. This matters because China’s entry arrangements can be tied to specific policy windows, ports, stay limits or travel purposes. The page therefore gives readers a clean view of which passports currently have the simplest recorded administrative path into China.

The ranking view continues to use the same Passport Reports methodology and does not create a separate China-only score. Passports are filtered by access to China, then presented inside the wider mobility order already used across the site. A country’s position should be read as a combination of its overall passport strength and its eligibility for this destination list. This keeps the page consistent with the global ranking while making the China access question easier to compare.

Entry conditions for China may differ by nationality, document category, route, port of arrival, length of stay and stated travel purpose. Some permissions may apply only in defined circumstances and may not cover every traveler with the same passport. Border checks, onward travel requirements and changes in official policy can also affect the practical result. Readers should use this page as a structured comparison and verify the current rule before booking or traveling.
