G77 Countries and 2026 Passport Rankings

The G77 was founded in 1964 by developing countries at the first United Nations Conference on Trade and Development in Geneva. Its original name was kept even as its membership expanded far beyond the first seventy-seven signatories. The group gives developing countries a collective voice in economic, development and United Nations negotiations. This page uses that grouping to compare national passports without changing the Passport Reports scoring method.

The G77 works around development priorities, South-South cooperation, trade, finance, technology, climate issues and institutional capacity. It is not a border area, a visa union or a common passport system. Member countries keep separate travel policies and their passports can differ widely in practical mobility. A focused ranking makes those differences easier to read inside one broad diplomatic group.

Figures come from the central Passport Reports system, including visa-free destinations, visa on arrival, eTA access and visa-required destinations. The same ranking order and tie-break rules used across the website remain unchanged. When central mobility records are updated, this page updates automatically.
