Commonwealth Countries and 2026 Passport Rankings

The Commonwealth is a voluntary association of independent and equal countries connected by cooperation, history and shared public commitments. Its members span Africa, Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, the Americas and the Pacific, which gives the group a broad global footprint. The association works through dialogue rather than a single legal travel area, so each country keeps its own passport rules and external visa policy. This page uses the Commonwealth country frame to compare passport mobility without changing the Passport Reports methodology.

Commonwealth membership does not make passport strength uniform across the group. Some member passports benefit from wide visa-free arrangements, while others face more advance visa requirements because travel access depends on bilateral rules, destination policy and international agreements. Comparing the members together makes these differences easier to see inside one familiar diplomatic grouping. The ranking therefore treats the Commonwealth as a comparison set, not as a shared border or automatic entry zone.
