Visa-Free Entry Requirements
- The traveler must hold a passport valid for at least three more months on the date of entry. A confirmed return ticket or a confirmed travel ticket showing onward travel to another country is mandatory.
- Valid visitor health insurance issued by an insurance company registered with the Ministry of Public Health of Qatar must be in place. The premium for the mandatory basic visitor policy is 50 QAR per month. Coverage for emergency treatment and accident expenses is up to 150,000 QAR during the policy period and within Qatar's borders.
- Travelers entering by land must have valid vehicle insurance for their vehicle. Travelers using the Abu Samra land border crossing may pre-register their vehicle via Hayya.
- Hotel reservation, accommodation in a specific hotel via Discover Qatar, host registration, or other proof of accommodation is mandatory only if required by a personalized official eligibility result. The accommodation condition indicated by the eligibility check must be completed before travel.
- The maximum permitted duration of stay, extension entitlement, and number of entries vary according to the personalized visa check result. The traveler must not exceed the period shown on the official check page.
- Photographs, bank account statements, minimum account balance, employment certificate, salary certificate, travel itinerary, or invitation letter have not been published as common mandatory requirements for all travelers for visa-free entry.
Electronic Travel Authorization Requirements
- Applications made under the Electronic Travel Authorization are carried out in the current system via Hayya by selecting the Visa with ETA A3 type. The applicant must hold a valid third-country visa or residence permit accepted by the Hayya system and upload a copy of this document.
- The Ministry of Interior's ETA service description stipulates that the passport copy must be valid for at least six months and the visa or residence permit forming the basis of the application must be valid for at least 30 days. If the personalized checklist created in the current Hayya application shows a different or additional validity requirement, the condition on the application screen must be taken as the basis.
- During the application, personal information, passport details, a personal photograph, proof of accommodation, and return or onward travel information must be submitted. Accommodation can be proven by a hotel reservation or host information recorded through the Hayya Host Family & Friends system.
- After the electronic authorization is approved, mandatory visitor health insurance must be in place upon entry to Qatar. The validity date, maximum stay duration, and number of entries on the authorization document should be checked.
- The Ministry of Interior's ETA service description states that the electronic approval is valid for 30 days, can be renewed for another 30 days, and the permitted stay is up to 30 days. If re-entry is made after leaving Qatar, a new authorization may be required. If the current Hayya approval document shows a different period, the approval document must be taken as the basis.
E-Visa Application Requirements
- The e-visa application is made through the Hayya website or the Hayya to Qatar mobile application. The applicant should create an account, select the visa type suitable for their personal situation, and complete the personalized document list created by the system.
- In the application, personal information, a copy of the passport or accepted identity document, a personal photograph, accommodation information, and, where applicable, residence permit information are provided. The name, date of birth, nationality, and document number on the passport must be entered completely and identically to the passport in the application.
- Accommodation can be proven by a confirmed hotel reservation or by the host in Qatar registering through the Hayya Host Family & Friends system. In certain application types, the hotel reservation must be uploaded at the time of application. For files that move to "Pending Accommodation Confirmation" status, accommodation information must be completed within the specified period after notification.
- In Tourist e-Visa A1 applications, if the personalized result requires a hotel reservation, the reservation must be presented at the time of application. The A1 visa fee is 100 QAR, and payment is requested after approval.
- In the GCC Resident Visa A2 application, a valid residence permit must be uploaded. Under current Hayya terms, the residence permit must be valid for at least three more months on the application date. Children under the age of eighteen can be added as dependents to a suitable A2 main application.
- In the Visa for Companion of GCC Citizen A4 application, the applicant must travel together with the person sponsoring them. Documents concerning accompaniment, the sponsor, and the family relationship must be submitted to the extent requested in the application system's personalized checklist.
- The application fee, payment stage, and any additional service fees are shown in the Hayya account according to the application type.
- After the application is finalized, the passport number, validity date, last entry date, maximum stay duration, and number of entries on the issued electronic authorization document should be checked. Mandatory visitor health insurance must be in place during entry.
- For A2 visas, a validity of two months and multiple-entry arrangement was announced on 30 November 2025. However, previously issued authorizations or application-specific decisions may differ. The validity and number of entries stated on the issued electronic authorization document must be taken as the basis.
- Birth certificate, parental consent letter, marriage certificate, notarization, apostille, or translation requirements have not been published as a common list for all e-visa applications. These documents should only be submitted if requested by the system for the application type and personal situation.
Visa on Arrival Requirements
- In visa-on-arrival procedures, generally a passport valid for at least three more months on the date of entry, a confirmed return or onward travel ticket, and mandatory visitor health insurance are required.
- The accommodation requirement may vary per person. If the official eligibility result requires a hotel reservation, a confirmed reservation must be presented. In cases where reservation via Discover Qatar is explicitly requested, a reservation obtained from another platform may not be considered sufficient.
- In paid visa-on-arrival practices, the general fee is 100 QAR. The accepted payment method may vary according to the sub-visa type.
- The Qatar–Oman Joint Tourist Visa is issued upon arrival in the country. The passport must be valid for at least three months, a confirmed return ticket, a hotel reservation or clear accommodation address, and valid health insurance are required. The visa is valid for 30 days, allows multiple entries to both countries, and can be extended for another 30 days for a fee. The visa fee is 100 QAR.
- Valid vehicle insurance is mandatory for travelers arriving by land. Pre-registering the vehicle and passenger information via Hayya may facilitate border procedures.
- The maximum duration of stay and extension entitlement of the visa on arrival vary according to the sub-visa type. The period written on the issued entry permit must be taken as the basis.
Consular Visa Application Requirements
- In cases where an application cannot be made through the electronic visa system, the application is made through the authorized embassy or consulate of Qatar. The application is forwarded by the diplomatic mission to the Consular Affairs unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar for evaluation.
- The standard visit visa fee is 100 QAR, the business person visa fee is 200 QAR, the transit visa fee is 100 QAR, and the Qatar–Oman Joint Tourist Visa fee is 100 QAR. Official purpose visas are exempt from fees.
- The method of completing and signing the application form, the number and dimensions of photographs, the passport pages to be submitted, proof of legal residence, bank account statement, employment or student certificate, travel itinerary, invitation letter, sponsor documents, and documents related to child applications may vary according to the diplomatic mission applied to and the purpose of the visa.
- The applicant must complete the current local list provided by the responsible embassy or consulate.
- The requirement for translation, notarization, legalization, or apostille of documents has not been uniformly regulated for all applications. These procedures should only be carried out if requested by the responsible diplomatic mission.
- Whether an interview, biometric data, or additional documents are requested is determined according to the mission where the application is made and the visa type.
Transit Visa Requirements
- The transit visa may be used by eligible transit passengers who wish to enter Qatar during a layover at Hamad International Airport and who do not have visa-free entry rights.
- In the official transit tour practice, the traveler must travel on Qatar Airways flights and the layover time at Hamad International Airport must be at least six hours. The application is made through the Discover Qatar Transit Desk in the airport's duty-free area.
- The transit visa may be issued for up to 96 hours. The visa fee is 100 QAR. The issuance of the visa is subject to approval by the Ministry of Interior of Qatar, and the tour reservation does not guarantee entry permission.
- Flight and layover information must be presented. The traveler's onward flight departing from Qatar must be confirmed.
