Visa-Free Entry Requirements

  • The right to visa-free entry depends on the traveler's nationality, type of passport used, border crossing point of entry, and the visa-free entry program used. The traveler must carry a valid passport or another travel document recognized by Belarus.
  • The travel document must be valid for at least 90 days beyond the planned date of departure from Belarus. The document must have blank space where border entry and exit stamps can be placed. The exact number of blank pages required for visa-free entry has not been definitively specified in the central official source.
  • The traveler must have valid health insurance in Belarus.   • For stays shorter than one month, the traveler must have financial means of at least two basic units per day. For stays of one month or longer, financial means of at least 50 basic units per month are required. Financial sufficiency may be demonstrated with cash, bank card, traveler's checks, or other documents accepted by border authorities.
  • For visa-free entry via international airports, a regular passport must be used. Under this program, the maximum duration of stay is 30 days. Flights originating from or continuing to Russia are considered domestic flights and therefore cannot be used under this visa-free entry procedure.
  • Some travelers are required to present a previously used and still valid multiple-entry visa of a third country and an airline ticket showing departure from Belarus within 30 days. This additional requirement varies by nationality.
  • The airport visa-free entry program cannot be used for employment, long-term study, or residence purposes. Visitors staying in Belarus for more than 10 business days must register their address. E-Visa Application Requirements

  • The e-visa application must be made through Belarus's official E-Pasluga electronic service platform. The applicant must create an account on the platform, verify their identity, and enter personal information and travel details in the application form completely and accurately.
  • The e-visa is issued only in the name of the individual applicant and for single entry. The maximum permitted duration of stay is 30 days. The e-visa may be used for travel purposes specified in the official system, such as tourism, private visit, business trip, participation in scientific, cultural, sporting or educational events, and short-term internship.
  • The application must be submitted at least seven calendar days before the planned date of entry into Belarus. The official processing time is up to seven calendar days. The result of the application is sent to the applicant's electronic service account in PDF format.
  • During the application, it is not necessary to submit an invitation letter or any other visa support document used in the classic consular visa. However, it is mandatory to enter all required personal information, passport details, and travel information in the system completely. Incorrect, incomplete, or contradictory information may lead to rejection of the application.
  • The e-visa service fee is EUR 6 for each applicant. Additionally, a consular fee determined as EUR 35, EUR 60, or exemption depending on nationality and age may apply. The total fee is paid in a single transaction when the application is submitted. The accepted card types and other payment methods have not been definitively specified in the central official source.
  • The applicant must present a valid regular passport upon entry to Belarus. The passport must be valid for at least 90 days beyond the planned departure date and contain sufficient blank space for border stamps.
  • The traveler must have health insurance with coverage of at least EUR 10,000 and valid for the entire stay in Belarus, as well as sufficient financial means.
  • The approved e-visa document must be printed and carried together with the passport upon entry to and exit from Belarus, and during the stay in the country. Relying solely on an electronic copy stored on a phone is discouraged.

Visa on Arrival Requirements

  • Visa on arrival can only be issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Foreigners' Admission Unit at Minsk National Airport. There is no general visa on arrival system at other land, railway, or air border crossing points.

Consular Visa Application Requirements

  • A B-type transit visa may be issued for single, double, or multiple entries. The total validity of the visa may be up to one year. For each transit passage, the duration of stay in Belarus may not exceed two days, except in cases of mandatory stopovers.
  • A traveler changing aircraft at an international airport in Belarus may be exempt from a transit visa, provided that they do not leave the designated international transit area of the airport, carry entry documents for the final country, and have a confirmed onward flight departing within 24 hours.
  • In cases of mandatory stopovers such as flight cancellation, natural disaster, medical emergency, or breakdown of the means of transport, the transit period may be assessed by the authorized authority according to the circumstances of the event.
  • The transit visa fee is subject to the general consular visa fee system. The standard fee is generally EUR 60 and may vary according to nationality, age, bilateral agreements, and request for expedited processing.
