Visa-Free Entry Requirements
- A passenger benefiting from visa exemption must carry a passport that is valid on the date of entry into Cambodia and has a validity of at least six more months. The permitted duration of stay under the exemption varies depending on the passport type and the applicable bilateral or multilateral agreement.
- The passport must be undamaged and the identity information must be legible.
- The passenger may submit the immigration, health, and customs information requested for the entry process free of charge through the Cambodia e-Arrival system. The process can be completed within seven days before arrival or upon arrival. A passenger who completes the process in advance must keep the generated QR code accessible at border control.
- Cambodia e-Arrival is not a visa or an electronic travel authorization. It does not grant visa-free entry and does not change the visa status to which the passenger is subject. The system only combines the immigration form, health declaration, customs declaration, and, where applicable, electronic visa on arrival processes.
- A round-trip ticket, hotel reservation, bank statement, a specific minimum financial amount, employment document, and travel health insurance have not been published as universal requirements for all visa-free passengers.
- Having a visa exemption does not absolutely guarantee the right to enter the country. The passport, purpose of travel, permitted duration of stay, and border control conditions must be fulfilled.
E-Visa Application Requirements
- The e-visa application is made only online through the official Cambodia e-visa system. The system issues a tourist T-class e-visa and an ordinary or business purpose E-class e-visa.
- In the application form, personal information, birth information, contact information, passport details, intended date of entry, purpose of travel, travel details, and the point of entry to be used are declared. After the form is completed, all information must be checked and the payment stage must be proceeded to.
- The applicant must have a passport valid for at least six more months on the date of entry into Cambodia. The e-visa is linked to the passport used in the application. The passenger must use the same passport at entry for which the e-visa was issued.
- The system requires the applicant's photograph. If the photograph is not attached to the application or if a technical issue occurs, the photograph may be sent to the official e-visa unit together with the application reference number.
- The information on the personal information page of the passport must be transferred to the application.
- The fee for the tourist T e-visa is USD 30. The fee for the ordinary or business purpose E e-visa is USD 35. The official portal offers online payment options including Visa, Mastercard, and JCB.
- Both e-visas are single-entry. The visa must be used within three months from the date of issue and grants a stay of up to one month after entry into the country.
- The tourist T e-visa is used for tourism and short-term visits. The ordinary or business purpose E e-visa is an initial visa that may be used for business, work, or for applying for an appropriate extension of stay later. The e-visa alone does not replace a work permit.
- The official processing time is three business days. No other universal period has been published regarding exactly how many days before travel the application must be made. The applicant must take into account the official processing time and possible additional checks.
- The e-visa cannot be used at every border checkpoint. One of the entry points supported by the official portal must be selected during the application. If entry is to be made through a border checkpoint not listed on the portal, the e-visa may not be accepted.
- The approval letter is sent to the applicant electronically or becomes accessible through the portal. The passenger must keep the approval document and the application passport accessible at border control.
- A round-trip ticket, a specific hotel reservation, a specific number of months of bank statement, a fixed minimum financial amount, salary certificate, or student certificate have not been published as universal documents for all e-visa applications.
- No requirement for mandatory fingerprints, previously collected biometric data, or an interview has been published for a standard e-visa application. The competent authority may request additional information, clarification, or documents when deemed necessary.
- If a separate passport or travel document is used for each child, a separate application must be made.
Visa on Arrival Requirements
- The visa on arrival facility can be used at international entry points open by air, land, and sea. Eligibility may vary depending on passport type, nationality, purpose of travel, and the border checkpoint used.
- The applicant must carry a passport valid for at least six more months on the date of entry into Cambodia. The passport must have a blank page usable for a visa sticker or entry stamp.
- For a tourist visa on arrival application, a valid passport, a recent passport-type photograph, and application information provided at arrival or completed electronically are required.
- The visa on arrival process can be initiated through the Electronic Visa on Arrival section within the Cambodia e-Arrival system. The system also includes the immigration form, health declaration, and customs declaration. The e-Arrival process is free of charge and can be completed within seven days before arrival or upon arrival.
- The form may request personal information, passport details, travel details, point of entry, accommodation information, health declaration, and customs declaration. After the application is completed, the generated QR code must be kept ready for the entry process.
- The official diplomatic mission only requires a recent passport-type photograph.
- When a tourist T visa is issued, the initial permitted duration of stay is 30 days. The tourist visa is single-entry and can be extended once for an additional 30 days through the Cambodia Immigration Department.
- For an ordinary or business purpose E visa, the initial stay period is 30 days. For longer-term work, business, study, or residence plans, an appropriate extension of stay after entry and, if necessary, a work permit must be obtained.

- Visa on arrival processing cannot be carried out at a border checkpoint that is not open or temporarily closed. The passenger must verify before travel that the entry point to be used is operational.
Consular Visa Application Requirements
- The consular visa application is made in person at the diplomatic mission of Cambodia responsible for the applicant's country or region of residence or by mail if accepted by the mission. The accepted method, jurisdiction, and application procedure vary by mission.
- The application form must be completed in full, signed, and dated. The official form in London requires it to be filled out in capital or block letters and dates to be written in day, month, year format.
- In the form, surname, given name, gender, date and place of birth, birth and current nationality, home address, telephone, email, occupation, employer, visa type, entry and exit dates, point of entry, mode of transport, passport details, previous visits, and accommodation or visit address in Cambodia are declared.
- An incompletely filled form may be rejected or returned without processing. The competent mission may request the applicant's telephone number and email address for additional information.
- The applicant must submit the original passport that is valid for at least six more months on the date of entry into Cambodia. The physical visa sticker is affixed to the visa page in the passport.
- The number of blank passport pages required varies by diplomatic mission. The mission in London requires at least two blank pages, the mission in Washington requires at least one blank visa page.
- The photograph requirement varies by mission. The mission in London requests one 35 x 45 mm passport-type photograph taken within the last six months. The mission in Washington requests one 2 x 2 inch photograph taken within the last six months.
- For a tourist T visa application, a completed and signed form, original passport, photograph, and visa fee are submitted. If the application is made by mail, a pre-paid, trackable return envelope may be required.
- If the applicant is not a citizen of the country where the application is made, the relevant mission may request a photocopy of a valid residence card or equivalent legal residence document.
- For a business purpose E visa, a guarantee or invitation verification certificate created through the CamDX system by a local Cambodian partner, an employment contract or work agreement, and the address and contact information in Cambodia may be required.
- For a courtesy C visa, a letter of invitation and sponsorship from the relevant organization in Cambodia, a copy of the valid memorandum of understanding between the organization and the Government of Cambodia, an employment contract or work agreement, and the address and contact information in Cambodia must be submitted.
- If dependent family members are to be included in the courtesy visa, the official letter must contain the names of the dependents; marriage certificate, birth certificate, or equivalent documents showing family ties must be submitted.
- For a diplomatic A visa, a diplomatic passport, official letter or note, and the address and contact information in Cambodia are required. If dependent family members are included in the diplomatic visa, their names must appear in the official letter and marriage and birth documents must be submitted.
- For an official B visa, an official passport and an official letter or note issued by the relevant institution or diplomatic mission are required.
- For a Khmer K visa, a personal request letter together with a Cambodian birth certificate, former or current Cambodian passport, Cambodian identity card, or another legal document showing Cambodian origin must be submitted. From persons born abroad, the birth and marriage documents of the parents may be requested. Persons who have previously held a K visa may submit a copy of the previous K visa page.
- The form in London allows the name, date of birth, and gender of children under 12 years of age who share the applicant's passport to be written on the form. A separate photograph is required for the applicant and for each child in the same passport. A parent or legal guardian may sign the form on behalf of a minor.
- Tourist, business, courtesy, and official visas are generally single-entry, usable within three months from the date of issue, and provide a 30-day stay upon first entry. The diplomatic A visa may be multiple-entry, usable within three months, and provides a 30-day stay upon first entry. The validity of the Khmer K visa may continue until the validity period of the passport.
- Consular processing times vary by mission. The mission in London states three business days for in-person applications and five business days for postal applications. The mission in Washington reports 7–10 business days for regular processing.
- How far in advance the application can be made varies by mission. The mission in Washington recommends that the tourist visa application be made no earlier than two months before the intended date of entry. This period is not universal for all missions.
- The fee and payment method vary by the mission applied to. The mission in Washington accepts USD 30 for a tourist visa and requires payment by money order or bank cashier's check; it does not accept cash, credit card, or personal check. The mission in Geneva has published CHF 35 for a tourist visa and CHF 40 for a business visa.
- A bank statement, fixed financial sufficiency amount, hotel reservation, and travel health insurance have not been published as universal documents for all consular visa applications.
- The mission may request certification or translation depending on the type of document and the country of issuance.
- No requirement for mandatory fingerprints or biometric data has been published for a standard consular application. The competent mission may request additional documents, clarification, an interview, or identity verification from the applicant.
