Visa-Free Entry Requirements
- Foreign visitors eligible for visa-free entry must also complete the Electronic Travel Authorization application before travel. A valid eTA approval must be available for presentation at the start of the journey and upon arrival in Saint Kitts and Nevis.
- The traveler must have a valid passport. The London High Commission's 2017 mission page states that the passport must be valid for at least six months after the end of the visit. Therefore, the six-month validity requirement must be confirmed separately with regard to the route used and the relevant mission.
- A valid return or onward travel ticket must be available upon entry into the country. The visitor must have sufficient financial means to cover accommodation and other travel expenses.
- The duration of stay is determined by the immigration authority upon arrival in the country. The 90-day usage period of the Electronic Travel Authorization does not automatically entitle a stay of 90 days in the country.
- Visitor status does not confer the right to work, access public funds, study, or engage in self-employment. For these purposes, the relevant permit or separate immigration status must be obtained.
- There is no requirement for a COVID-19 test, COVID-19 vaccination certificate, or quarantine.
Electronic Travel Authorization Requirements
- The Electronic Travel Authorization application must be submitted online through the official Electronic Border Management System website or the Saint Kitts and Nevis e-Border mobile application. The information in the application must be entered completely and consistently with the passport information.
- A valid passport, a recent passport-type photograph or a selfie taken during the application, residential address, telephone number, and email address are required for the application.
- Within the scope of travel information, the travel route, arrival flight number, and, if a connecting flight is used, the departure date of the first flight of the journey must be provided.
- Hotel reservation must be submitted as proof of accommodation. If staying with friends or family, an invitation letter is accepted. When applicable, the host's identity document is also requested.
- The passport image must be clear, legible, and not covered in any part. The selfie must be taken in a well-lit environment, without shadows, and against a plain background. Re-photographing a photo from a passport or other identity document is not accepted as a selfie.
- A requirement for scans or photocopies of passport pages other than the data page is also not explicitly published.
- Credit or debit card information must be provided during the application to the extent applicable. The single-entry eTA fee is 17 USD per passenger. Payment processing and other service fees may be added. If a faster processing option is selected, an additional fee applies.
- The application can be made up to three months before travel. It is recommended to complete the application approximately two weeks before the journey. Applications are usually processed within 24 hours, depending on the selected processing service. The period may be extended in cases requiring review or additional checks.
- The eTA is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance or until the end of the passport's validity period, whichever occurs first. The eTA is single-entry and can only be used for one journey. A new application is required for a new trip.
- The approval must be obtained electronically before travel and must be presentable both at carrier check and upon entry into the country. It will be appropriate to keep the approval accessible on a phone or other electronic device.
- There is an official help page regarding the possibility of making an expedited application upon arrival if the eTA application was forgotten. However, the basic rule is that approval must be obtained before departure. The option to apply upon arrival is subject to an additional expediting fee and does not guarantee that the traveler will be accepted onto the flight.
- The eTA is not a guarantee of entry. Final permission to enter and the duration of stay are determined by the immigration officer at the border. The competent authority may request additional information and documents as part of security or immigration checks.
- Facial scanning may be performed during the application via the mobile app. Travelers who apply via the app may use the fast lane using facial biometrics at points where it is available.
- A separate procedure appropriate to the travel status must be completed for each foreign child. There is an eTA service fee exemption for children under the age of two.
- Transit passengers arriving by air and transferring to another flight without leaving the airport do not need to obtain an eTA. If, during transit, they will pass through passport control, exit the airport, or stay in the country, an eTA appropriate to the travel conditions and, if necessary, a visa must be obtained.
E-Visa Application Requirements
- Visitors who must obtain a visa in advance should submit their applications through the online e-visa system directed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saint Kitts and Nevis and diplomatic missions.
- The required documents may vary depending on the applicant's purpose of travel, visa type, nationality, country of residence, and the assessment of the authority reviewing the application. The Visa Office may request additional supporting documents during the application or after review.
- According to visitor visa information published at official diplomatic missions, a completed and signed application form, a valid passport, two recent color passport photographs, bank account statements for the last three months, and an employer letter may be required.
- According to the mission information of the London High Commission, the passport must be valid for at least six months after the end of the visit. Since this information is on a 2017 mission page, it should be reconfirmed on the current application screen or at the diplomatic mission where the application will be made.
- The applicant must be able to provide a valid return or onward travel ticket and demonstrate sufficient financial means to cover travel expenses. For bank account statements, the mission page specifies the last three-month period.
- Additional documents such as hotel reservation, invitation letter, sponsor documents, work or student documents may be requested depending on the purpose of travel and personal situation.
- On the official Washington Embassy page, a fee of 100 USD and an approximately two-week processing time are stated for the visitor e-visa. Fees for other visa types may differ. The old page of the London mission lists bank-certified check or money transfer as a method; this method should not be considered universal for all online applications.
- The visa may be sent by email and physical submission of the passport may not be required during the application. The electronic visa document must be kept accessible during travel.
- The permitted duration of stay upon entry into the country is determined by the immigration authority.
- Visitor visa does not authorize work, access to public funds, study, or engagement in self-employment. For study, work, or other specific purposes, the relevant visa or permit type should be applied for.
